If you liked one of these models, you probably asked yourself the question: how are they different, because at first glance they are so similar? Let’s compare their technical characteristics, but let’s focus on the essential differences.
The first difference is their size. It’s not so obvious when you watch them separately, but when you see them together, the difference becomes noticeable. The length of the case in Ducky11 is 3.3 m, and in Ducky13 – 3.9 m.
The models have similar designs, but the Ducky13 has a more advanced mast attachment assembly. This makes the structure more rigid and allows you to carry sails of a larger area: 7 sq.m versus 5 sq.m. Sails are the engine of a catamaran. Larger sail area means more power and better dynamics. The Ducky13 model already has certain features of a sporty character. Ducky11 is calmer and children or beginners feel more confident on it.
The similarity of the designs results in approximately the same assembly time, but Ducky11 packages are more compact and lighter. Pay attention to this if it is important to you.
So which one of them will suit you better, which one should you choose? In short, the Ducky11 model is primarily for children and teenagers, but can also be used by adults, and the Ducky13 model is for teenagers and adults. Both models will suit beginners equally well. More details: if you are already familiar with sails and it fascinates you, then definitely the Ducky13 model will be more interesting and promising for you. It has more opportunities for both independent and family recreation. If you are more focused on children, then Ducky11 is your option. This model will come in handy and you will appreciate its maximum simplicity and compactness.
