The World Cup on folding and inflatable catamarans, Ukraine, Cherkassy 2012

On April 28, 2012, in Cherkassy started the first open World Cup on folding and inflatable catamarans. In spite of the fact that in competitions only two countries – Ukraine and Russia were presented, it was the most representative regatta, from all passing before, the fleet totaled 71 catamarans. Competitions consisted of a series of short races and race rally which consisted of four stages, with a general extent about 120 km which route lay from Cherkassy, to the island Zhovnino and back. As a whole, the regatta passed at high level. I don't know how, but organizers managed to agree even with weather: it was solar and abnormally warmly, as for this period of time though forecasts promised a cold snap. Winds was not much if not to tell a little, but it was more interesting to that to chase in so changeable conditions. The nervous tension reached the apogee when the fleet got to a calm with the subsequent change of a wind. During one race leaders could be replaced several times and fight lasted to the last meters of a distance.
